Monika was born and raised in Aberdeen, graduating from Aberdeen High School in 2003. After completing her AA at Grays Harbor Community College, Monika was accepted into the Architecture and Interior Design programs at the University of Idaho. She spent 7 years in Idaho to obtain a Bachelors in Interior Design, a Masters in Architecture, and a Minor in Technical Theater. Monika became licensed as a Registered Architect in the State of Washington in 2021. Working in a small firm has provided Monika with experience in both residential and commercial design as well as project management through project closeout.
Monika has served on the Aberdeen Planning Commission since 2014. She also remains actively involved in the local theater productions at the Grays Harbor College Bishop Center and Aberdeen Driftwood Theater. At the Bishop Center, Monika works on the spring and summer musicals, as the Assistant Stage Manager, ensuring a smooth operation behind the scenes. She also completes the occasional set design and decoration for the local Driftwood Theater.
