COPALIS CROSSING, WASHINGTON
Days before Christmas in 2012, the Camp Bethel facility, located outside of Hoquiam, suffered a devastating fire. The fire destroyed the camp’s Nickerson Hall, kitchen, dining hall, main office and the John Friend Lodge. Harbor Architects LLC worked closely with camp board members to create a new single building facility to serve all of the missing needs for Camp Bethel activities to resume at full capacity.
The new building consists of a two-story lodge with a combination of accessible rooms, bunk rooms, and single rooms with a restroom; a lounge space with the camp’s grand fireplace; camp store; camp office; nurse office; dining hall/multipurpose space; full commercial kitchen to serve multiple styles of food service; and a chapel/meeting hall.
